HIGH CHIEFTAIN THARABAN
High Chieftain of the barbarian clans at Karvosti Description: A tall, bearded man in a long bearskin cloak. More neutral arbiter than absolute ruler — his power derives from what the clan chiefs are willing to grant him. He presides over disputes, judges blood feuds, and occasionally serves as military leader. He has held the position for at least seventeen years.
HULDRA YELETA
Chief Witch of all barbarian clans Description: The spiritual heart of barbarian culture. Yeleta arrived on Karvosti thirteen years ago (four years after Tharaban's coronation) under turbulent circumstances. She possesses greater hold over her people than the High Chieftain — or even Queen Korinthia has over the Ambrians. She leads witch conclaves and assembles the Keepers of the hex nodes at every solstice and equinox to maintain the spiritual health of the land.
CHIEFTAIN VIKOMER (CLAN GODINJA)
Leader of Clan Godinja Description: Has elven blood in his veins. Leads the mask-making clan that claims descent from Symbaroum's ruling elite. His elven heritage symbolizes the Godinja's unique closeness to the ancient forest guardians.
CHIEFTAIN EMBERSIND (CLAN ODAIOVA)
Leader of Clan Odaiova Description: A diplomatic genius who has positioned his clan to profit from Ambrian expansion. Controls the trade routes between Karvosti and Thistle Hold.
CHIEFTAIN MONOVAR (CLAN ZAREK)
Leader of Clan Zarek Description: Allied with Ambrian forces to destroy Clan Jezora. His pragmatism has ensured his clan's survival and prosperity, but his collaboration with the Ambrians makes him a controversial figure among other barbarian leaders.
CHIEFTAIN KARONA (CLAN ENOAI)
Leader of Clan Enoai Description: Rules from Enovak, a village of approximately fifty households built on and under a single giant pine tree in the deep forest.
HELIONOR (CLAN JEZORA — REMNANT)
Leader of the surviving Jezora Description: Daughter of the slain chieftain Haloban. She led approximately two hundred survivors into the taboo deep regions of Davokar after her clan's massacre. She now leads the remnant tribe in hiding.
ELORI
Elven emissary Description: An Autumn Elf who serves as a diplomatic voice for the Iron Pact. Known for the statement: "It is a vain presumption to think that the world would care about being worshiped." Represents the elven perspective in rare negotiations with human powers.
