Read more → abduct human infants from their cribs and leave a changeling in their place. The reason for this practice remains unknown — the elves do not explain themselves. The stolen children vanish into the forest; the changeling grows up among humans, initially indistinguishable from any other child.

They are raised human but are not human. They are created by elves but are not accepted by elves.

As changelings age, they gradually develop elven features — pointed ears, angular faces, an otherworldly quality that sets them apart. This transformation often triggers fear and rejection from the communities that raised them.

Read more → have no culture of their own. They are raised human but are not human. They are created by elves but are not accepted by elves. This leaves them fundamentally isolated — belonging nowhere, caught between two worlds.

Many changelings possess an innate ability to shapeshift, taking on the appearance of others. This makes them excellent spies, infiltrators, and survivors — but also deepens the mistrust directed at them.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

In youth, changelings appear fully human. Over time, elven features emerge: elongated ears, sharper bone structure, eyes that seem to catch light differently. Their true appearance is a blend of human and elf — unsettling to both peoples.

HOW OTHERS VIEW THEM

Humans fear and distrust changelings, seeing them as fey tricksters or unwitting agents of the elves. The Church of Prios
